Doherty revealed her stage 4 diagnosis in February 2020 – three years after sharing that her first bout with cancer had gone into remission.

The actress said she was busy “living her life” these days and spending “a lot of time with friends and family” while continuing to work.

“A lot of people who are diagnosed with stage 4 are kind of written off. It is assumed that they cannot work or that they cannot work to their full capacity, and that is not true, ”Doherty said on“ GMA ”, adding that she finds the job“ more fulfilling ” now than ever.

“This is something I really wish people would stop assuming and give us a chance to prove them wrong.”
