Shaq shames Ben Simmons for sharing ‘actress’ photos on Instagram

Ben Simmons’ offseason as a punching bag in NBA circles continued with shots from a few legends.

Charles Barkley and Shaquille O’Neal, appearing on Shaq’s “Big Podcast”, took turns mowing him in light of reports that Simmons wants to leave Philadelphia.

Barkley said he was disappointed Simmons took a $ 200 million contract with the Sixers when he reportedly requested a trade.

“They don’t say ‘Come and cut my grass’, they say ‘Ben, we need you to learn how to shoot basketball,’ said Barkley, who also tore the 76ers point guard up last week.

“Ben Simmons, you’re not that good,” Shaq said. “In this league, do you want to be good? Or do you want to be tall? You are not great. But if you want to reach that next level you have to be awesome, and to be awesome you have to work on your game.

“Don’t put photos on your Instagram of your Ferrari or the actress you’re hanging out with. When you play for a down like Philadelphia, Boston, LA, Miami, a hard-working city, they don’t give any of that. They want you to come work hard and play hard.

In July, it was reported that Simmons had purchased a mansion in the Los Angeles area for $ 17.5 million, shortly after being spotted in London with his girlfriend and British media personality, Maya Jama. Simmons had previously dated Kendall Jenner.

Later in the podcast segment, Shaq said he was in Game 6 of the Sixers-Hawks playoff series in which Simmons notoriously refused to shoot.

“I know that as a player the first thing I do is look into the player’s eyes. This man was terrified over there. Not terrified of playing, but terrified of being fouled and missing free throws. Forget it all, ”O’Neal said.

While Shaq wasn’t exactly known for his free throws during his Hall of Fame career, even he was better than Simmons’ meager 34 percent shot during the playoffs.

Simmons, represented by Rich Paul of Klutch Sports, has been the subject of growing business rumors since the end of his grim playoffs. Earlier this week, ESPN’s Brian Windhorst reported that Simmons did not see it as his responsibility to make it easier for the Sixers to offload him.

“One of the messages Ben sent back to Philly is that it’s not his job to set its business value,” Windhorst said. “It’s not their job to correct their business value or increase their business value. It’s not something that’s on the menu for him and so with that over there, I don’t think he’s interested in coming in and trying to change the situation.
