Sharon Stone opens up about her connection to Britney Spears.

Earlier this week, Spears, 39, shared photos of several women on Instagram who she says have “inspired” her over the years, including Stone, 63.

The “Basic Instinct” actress appeared on “The Kelly Clarkson Show” Wednesday in which she was asked about her connection to the global pop star. Stone then revealed that Spears contacted her around 2007, the year the pop star’s public collapse was high-profile.

“Britney wrote me a very long and important and poignant letter during a very difficult time in her life – about when people would recognize her, when she was shaving her head – wanting me to help her,” said Stone. “I was having a very difficult time in my life and I couldn’t help myself. But the truth is we both needed help. She needed help and I needed help. help.”

Stone has had her share of problems, most recently documented in her new memoir, “The Beauty of Living Twice,” released Tuesday.

“The real point is, it’s very difficult to be a successful woman and no one to control you, take your finances and take care of you,” Stone continued. “There is a huge breaking point and there is a moment when you are broken.”

Stone continued to call Spears’ predicament “so out of hand and horrible.” His interview follows the February release of the documentary “Framing Britney Spears” which examined Spears’ life and career as well as his current legal battle with his father, Jamie Spears, over his guardianship.

Stone’s comments on Spears come just a day after the “Toxic” singer broke her silence over the viral documentary that prompted a plethora of celebrities to voice their support for Spears, including Bella Thorne, Kim Kardashian, Drew Barrymore , Howard Stern and more.

Spears confirmed on Instagram on Tuesday that she hadn’t watched the entire documentary but captured parts of it. She said it made her cry for “two weeks.”

“My life has always been very speculated … watched … and really judged all my life !!!” she started out in an Instagram caption. “For my sanity I need to dance on [Steven Tyler] every night of my life to feel wild, human and alive !!! “

Spears said that because she has performed in front of crowds for so much of her life, she has always been “exposed” and that “it takes a lot of strength to TRUST the universe with your true vulnerability.”

She added that she has “always” been “judged”, “insulted” and “embarrassed by the media” – and still is today.

“As the world continues to turn and life goes on, we still remain as fragile and sensitive as people !!!” she continued. “I didn’t watch the documentary, but from what I saw, I was embarrassed by the light they put me in.”

Additional fallout from the program has drawn heavy criticism of Justin Timberlake and Diane Sawyer, in addition to Jamie, for their treatment of the star in the past.

Just a few days ago, the pop star’s attorney filed a request to remove Jamie as her conservative.
