Shawn Mendes reveals the most difficult part of his tour (Exclusive)

There's good news for Shawn Mendes fans: Thanks to Verizon's new interactive fan experience, "This is Shawn", fans can feel closer to the older artist than ever before 21 years old.

The immersive multi-room experience, located in the Chelsea neighborhood of New York, offers fans the opportunity to experience behind the scenes how Shawn, singer-songwriter, creates his music. From "visiting" Malibu's beaches to Shawn's recording studio and feeling like being on stage in front of an exhausted audience, fans will get a glimpse of his life while his voice tells the story. In addition, Verizon will have special opportunities for members of its loyalty program, Verizon Up.

Shawn is currently touring for his eponymous album of 2018, but we have caught up with the superstar to find out what fans can expect from "This is Shawn" and what it really is like on an international tour .

AOL: How was born the idea behind your new fan experience "This is Shawn"?

Shawn Mendes: We wanted to find a way to give fans an experience they never had before. When I started working with Verizon, we quickly understood that this idea was the perfect way to create something that fans would like and that would deepen things that they might not have. views.

What excites you most for your fans in the interactive space?

We have created so many moments that will give fans the feeling of really being able to take a personal look at my creative process. I can not wait for them to do the experiment.

What is the most rewarding and challenging part of international tours?

I would say the most rewarding part is seeing the fans every night and having the best parties of their year and singing their hearts. Being part of it is so special to me. I would say the only challenge is that it gets really tiring, but I really feed on the energy of the fans every night.

You are known to stop and talk to fans and interact with them in the middle of the concert. What is the most memorable thing you have been told by a fan?

It's so hard to pick the most memorable thing, but I'll say that just hearing the fans say how one moment can make their day is why I'm so motivated to stay so personal with my fans.

What is the first thing you do after a show?

I usually have an ice towel and I just refresh myself after the workout! Haha.
