Shawn, wife of Larry King, says her family wore suspenders for private funerals

TV icon’s wife Shawn King confirmed to Entertainment tonight a private funeral was held this week. While serving, Larry’s family dressed in their signature suspenders to pay homage.

“All of us, it was just family, we wore Larry’s suspenders, all of us,” she explained. “And she was a beautiful, loving… just perfect, just perfect. It was family. There was no showbiz, no, none of that.

Larry died at the age of 87 on Saturday, weeks after being hospitalized with COVID-19. The radio legend has struggled with various health issues in recent years. He is survived by Shawn, 61, their two sons Chance, 21 and Cannon, 20, as well as Larry King, Jr., 59, whom he shared with his ex-wife, Annette Kaye. Larry filed for divorce from Shawn, his wife of over 20 years, for the second time in August 2019. Larry King Live the host has been married eight times to seven women. It is not known what the status of the estranged couple was at the time of their death, but a hearing on their divorce was scheduled for April.

Although Larry was raised Jewish, he explained in 2005 that he was “not a religious Jew”, but that he was “so culturally Jewish”.

“I don’t know if there is a God. I am a classic agnostic, but I am a Jewish agnostic, ”he said. “It’s, ‘Maybe there is something! Don’t count that! “

Shawn called the funeral service “beautiful”.
