Before Shazam or SoundHound, I remember looking for a year or more before I found the names of some songs I heard on the radio many times. Now, you just have to press a button and get the result. And Shazam brings more practical improvements that make it easier to recognize the song when you use other apps or if you have a headset plugged into it.

With the latest update of the application, Shazam recognizes the internal audio of the phone and no longer relies on the microphone. This means that you do not need to unplug your headphones in the subway to see what this song is about in an Instagram video, or you do not need to take out your Bluetooth headset and place it near the headphones. microphone of the phone so that Shazam can listen to it. .

You will notice that it works in both the Shazam main application and the contextual button. With my headphones plugged in, I listened to a song on Spotify, then I passed to Shazam, tapped to recognize and get the song accurately. It also worked when I watched videos on YouTube, Twitter, Instagram and I used the floating popup button to recognize embedded music in videos. It was flawless with the wired headphones of my Pixel 2 XL, but with the Bluetooth headphones it was a coincidence. Some models worked, others did not. This could be due to the whacky Bluetooth connectivity of the Pixel or the fact that I am running Q beta 3.
