“She wants him to be happy”

Kim Kardashian West wants the best for ex Kanye West.

Following the keeping up with the Kardashians Filing for a divorce from the star in February, the rapper began dating model Irina Shayk – and according to a source he has Kardashian support as the former couple navigate co-parenting their four children.

“Kim is okay with meeting Kanye,” a source told PEOPLE. “She just wants him to be happy.”

The source adds that Kardashian, 40, and West, 44 – who share daughters North, 7 and Chicago, 3, as well as sons Saint, 5 and Psalm, 2 – are focusing on their kids in the middle of the divorce proceedings.

“Kanye keeps things friendly with Kim to keep the kids happy,” the source said. “They spent time together as a family.”

The stars separated earlier this year after nearly seven years of marriage. At the time of Kardashian’s divorce petition, a source told PEOPLE that the two agreed to joint legal and physical custody and neither of them is contesting the marriage contract in place.

West submitted a response to the divorce petition in April and requested joint legal and physical custody of their children, according to documents previously obtained by PEOPLE.

In June, West and Shayk were spotted together celebrating their birthday in France. A source told PEOPLE he “started chasing her a few weeks ago” and they also spent time together in New York City, where she lives.

Last week, following reports they were calming down, a source told PEOPLE that West and Shayk, 35, “still hang out a lot.”

As for Kardashian, a source told PEOPLE last month that she “wants to date him” and “doesn’t see herself single for the rest of her life.”

“Her priorities are her children and her job,” the source said. “But she would love to find a guy to share her life with.”
