WAYNESBORO, Miss – A Mississippi sheriff said two men had been arrested for a filmed and shared attack on social media.
Wayne County Sheriff Jody Ashley told WDAM-TV that Landon McCaa, 32, and Tomas Sion Brown, 28, were charged with aggravated assault. The two Waynesboro men are jailed on Wednesday, pending their court appearance, to review their bail.
The video shows a man unexpectedly striking a second man in front of a house early Saturday. After the initial punch, the attacker forces the victim to the ground and strikes her repeatedly on the head.
Ashley says McCaa launched the punch shown on the video. He says Brown attacked later, but does not see himself on the video.
The sheriff said the authorities were investigating the attack and had filmed the video.
It was not immediately clear if the men had lawyers.
