Sherlock Holmes takes the backseat in this new Netflix series, where a group of street kids solve crimes for the master detective himself.
From designer Tom Bidwell (Watership Down), The irregular follows a group of unsuitable street children in Victorian London, hired by Dr Watson to dig for clues for Sherlock Holmes. It’s a dream project for Bidwell, who told the BBC he had been working on it for over 10 years and was inspired by the fact that Sherlock Holmes used a group of street children to help him. to collect clues.
“What if Sherlock was a drug addict and a delinquent and the kids figure it out while he takes the credit?” he said.
The brief teaser shows a map of Victorian London, with the group of teenagers who must solve the case. As for the case itself, it looks like a pretty gnarly (and tarot-inspired) murder spree with demonic influence.
The irregular hits Netflix on March 26.
