About a month after her own break-up with Shia LaBeouf, actress Margaret Qualley showed her support for FKA Twigs for exposing her allegedly abusive relationship with the actor.

Qualley posted the cover photo of the FKA twigs cover for the upcoming issue of She magazine, where the 33-year-old singer spoke about her troubled relationship with 34-year-old LaBeouf. The former couple started dating in 2018.

“Thank you,” Qualley wrote for the caption of the post.

The British singer, who was born Tahliah Debrett Barnett, took legal action against LaBeouf last year, claiming the actor was “dangerous” and had a history of abusing women “both physically and mentally” . The lawsuit alleged that LaBeouf strangled her and threatened to crash a car they were driving in together.

Qualley was dating LaBeouf when news of the trial surfaced and by early January the two had gone their separate ways. While the 26-year-old actress has not said she suffered mistreatment while dating LaBeouf, her post indicates that she believes the allegations against him.

The post received nearly 43,000 likes in less than 24 hours, with many followers thanking the actress for her solidarity. Qualley’s mother, Andie MacDowell, commented on her daughter’s post, writing, “Precious daughters. Beloved ”.

Olivia Wilde, who fired LaBeouf from her next film Don’t worry darling back in September, she also appeared to show her support in her subtle way, posting a photo the actress sent her. To wake up, a short film directed by Wilde with Qualley.

“I miss you, MQ. You are a fierce and special character,” Wilde wrote in the caption.

The She the interview sees FKA twigs attributing its survival to the relationship to a “miracle.”

“I think it’s lucky,” she told the magazine. “I honestly wish I could say that I found strength and saw that light. I wish I could say, ‘[It is] a testament to my strong character ”or“ This is how my mother raised me ”. It is none of those things. It’s pure luck that I’m not in this situation anymore, ”she said, adding that recovering from their relationship was“ the most difficult thing I have ever tried to do. It’s very fresh, for me, obviously. I know [this journey] won’t be perfect. But I hope if I can take small steps, and people can see me take back my life, it will inspire them. “

LaBeouf first responded to his claims by issuing a statement to the New York Times where he apologized and admitted that he had been “abusive to myself and everyone around me for years” while arguing that many of the allegations were “not true”. Twigs said the apology was an example of the type of “gaslighting” she experienced during their relationship.

“It reminds me of some of the gas lighting I went through when I was with him,” she told CBS’s Gayle King last week. “It takes some of the blame, but not all of it, and then denies it.”
