Shiny Jynx and the New Pokémon Costume Now Available in Pokémon GO

New Shinies have arrived Pokémon GO today. As the Holiday 2020 event kicks off today at 8 a.m. local time, it comes with the release of Shiny Jynx (sort of) and three other costumed Pokémon that can be encountered as Shinies. Details here!

The new Pokémon capable of Shiny Pokémon GO are:

  • Jynx: Now, Jynx isn’t entirely new as a Shiny Pokemon. Previously, if you hatched a Shiny Smoochum, you could get Shiny Jynx by evolving it. Now, however, Jynx himself can be found in his shining form. However, it may not be very easy to obtain or even hunt. Coaches who have played the event in previous time zones reported on the Silph Road reddit that Jynx does not spawn in the wild. Could this be another raid exclusive Shiny version for Pokémon GO after the Rufflet debacle? It’s like that.
  • Holiday 2020 Pikachu: Fortunately, shiny hunters will at least have the new costumed Pokemon to hunt. The best of the event is definitely Pikachu in her sweater, which is quite the improvement over just creating a new hat on the Generation One icon. Now don’t get me wrong. I love myself a Pika in a hat. However, the sweater is just a nice touch that went the extra mile on the design.
  • Cubchoo with the Ribbon: Cubchoo just released his Shiny versions for the first time less than a week ago, and now he’s already getting his first Costume variant available as Shiny. Note, however, that like the Holiday Pikachu, the costumed Cubchoo will not be able to evolve.
  • Delibird with the ribbon: Delibird returns and, it seems, he goes only be available in this exclusive costumed form this year. This Pokemon is known to only appear during the Holiday Event, so if you’re going to be very good at hunting down one of the new Shinies, this is definitely the one for you.

Costumed Pokémon and their shiny variants, as well as dated images of the New Year’s costumes for Slowpoke and Slowbro, can be seen here.
