An unidentified man is in custody after he opened fire in the store on Friday night, said Lieutenant Jeff Edwards of the Corona Police. The shooting arises from an argument inside the store, he said, but the relationship between the victims and the alleged gunman is unclear.

The incident is not considered a family conflict, said Edwards.

The Corona Police Department tweeted that the scene was stabilized and that there were no suspects or threats pending for the community.

The shooter told the authorities that he had been injured and that the victims had been taken to the hospital, Edwards said. The extent of injuries is not clear.

Some people were also injured while they were trying to leave the store, Edwards said.

Naveed Navi and Rochelle Flores told CNN's subsidiary, KTLA, that they were in the store to buy items for a barbecue when shots were fired.

They heard four shots, said the two men at the station, and tried to escape through the emergency doors, but they did not want to open it.

"It's not very fun when you're scared and running for your life, and you're trying to open a door that says" urgent "and that they're not opening up. not, "said Flores at the station. "Everyone was freaking out, people were falling on it."

She described the chaos and confusion as buyers tried to escape through the main entrance.

"Everyone is running," says Flores. "It's scary."
