The San Diego sheriffs arrested a man in connection with a shooting incident in the Chabad of Poway synagogue, reports KBS affiliate KFMB. Authorities say injuries have been reported.

According to the police, a man entered the Chabad Synagogue in Poway and began shooting. Police say that there are "many injuries" with varying degrees of severity, reports the KFMB.

The shooter then took the street where he was finally arrested, reported the chain. Authorities are convinced that there was only one gunman.

The Sheriff's Department of Poway sent a tweet stating that the shooting had occurred shortly before 11:30 Saturday.

According to Chabad of Poway's Facebook page, the synagogue was hosting a Passover celebration scheduled for 11:00 am. Authorities were urged to stay away from the area.

Poway just over 20 miles north of San Diego.
