With all the news coming out of the Gamescom 2019 this week, a question calls for an answer. Should Microsoft create an Xbox phone? Imagine Windows 10 Mobile coming back, but with ridiculous specifications similar to those of the Asus ROG Phone 2. But instead of being a new attempt under Windows Phone, you use your phone to play Xbox games. No need to stream content to your phone from Xbox One, just login directly to your Xbox Live account from your phone and start playing games.

Should Microsoft create an Xbox phone?

An Xbox phone is probably an idea that will never materialize. instead, Microsoft may be looking to release its own mobile gaming device similar to the Nintendo switch. Provided that phone specifications are present, Xbox Phone would be a better choice for players who want to experience Project xCloud and play Xbox games natively, without the need to use another application. or a mobile operating system. Do not get me wrong, the Nintendo Switch is a great gaming platform, but I think people would also like to have the usual features of a smartphone.

Even if Windows Phone is dead, Microsoft may decide to launch an Android phone focused on Microsoft applications. Although there are countless rumors on the Surface Phone, it seems doubtful that such a phone will ever be released. Microsoft said that Windows Phone is dead because Microsoft continues to deploy its applications on Android and iOS. Microsoft wants people to play Xbox games. Microsoft continues to buy developers left and right and makes the Xbox more accessible to everyone with Xbox Game Ultimate Pass, Xbox Play Anywhere and Project xCloud. With Microsoft, it's easier to play games on your Windows 10 PC, your Xbox One and your smartphone.

XCloud project

We've seen what Project xCloud can do on Android and iOS, but what if Microsoft could find a way to make an Xbox phone come true? Although Microsoft already has a patented game controller, I think Microsoft and Xbox could work together and quickly find a way to integrate their own unique controller system into their own phone. I think Microsoft can find a way to create an Xbox phone without having to carry extra accessories.

As we discovered through our hands-on comparison of the xCloud project, playing Xbox games on a phone is odd. Personally, I think the next logical step for Microsoft is to create an Xbox phone. I doubt that there are many people who want to take a controller with them whenever they want to play games on their phone using Project xCloud. What do you think? Take our survey below
