Should the Raiders consider negotiating for CB CJ Henderson?

If you remember back in early 2020, Florida cornerback CJ Henderson was one of the Raiders’ most mocked players of the No.12 Pick. With the Raiders in desperate need of a cornerback, many people have tied Henderson to Las Vegas at the start of the first round.

However, Henderson didn’t make it to the No.12 pick as the Jaguars took him to No.9. But after a shaky rookie season, it looks like Jacksonville is already ready to leave him.

According to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler, several teams have contacted the Jaguars about Henderson, who are not refusing the possible deals.

The Raiders selected Damon Arnette in the first round of the 2020 Draft, but there were also some issues with that selection. With the lack of overall depth at the cornerback position for the Raiders, could Mike Mayock and Jon Gruden decide to take another No.9 pick from just a year ago?

Henderson matches a lot of metrics defensive coordinator Gus Bradley wants in an outside cornerback and we know how talented he is since his time in Florida. If the price is right, it wouldn’t be at all a surprise to see the Raiders looking for a former Top 10 pick.

As the Henderson market grows we will continue to monitor to see if the Raiders are interested.
