As Sidney Powell, a former Assistant U.S. Attorney, has emerged as one of the faces of President Donald Trump’s legal campaign team, tensions arose with Rudy Giuliani last November, according to an upcoming book by Michael Wolff .
During an explosion, Giuliani, who has been Trump’s personal lawyer and backed many of the former president’s debunked election claims, allegedly described Powell as “crazy.”
After Giuliani questioned some of Powell’s more bizarre election theories, she hit back at the former New York mayor.
“I didn’t come here to kiss your fucking ring,” she reportedly said.
Wolff detailed the showdown in “Landslide: The Final Days of the Trump Chairman,” a first copy of which was obtained by Insider.
The book goes on to describe how Powell and Giuliani walked into separate rooms as Trump campaign lawyer Jenna Ellis sought out the former president to resolve the situation.
“Two of them [Powell and Giuliani] ended up in separate rooms sulking, Ellis calling on the president to moderate, ”the book said. “The president made it clear he wanted Powell on the team. He was hugging everyone (or anyone) who agreed that the election was stolen from him. “
As Powell retreated into Trump’s orbit, his conspiracy theories were amplified on a much larger scale.

“In the days immediately following the election, she was the author on Fox of new opera conspiracies, going far beyond anything the president had yet achieved: Now she had told Giuliani and the team that the plot went even deeper: Trump’s landslide victory was turned upside down by an international plot, ”the book says.
In media appearances, Powell falsely claimed that Dominion Voting Systems tipped the US presidential election in favor of current President Joe Biden. She alleged – without evidence – that Dominion secretly helped a rival election technology company, Smartmatic, and had ties to the late Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez.
Over time, the damage caused by his unfounded accusations had taken its toll.
End of november, Giuliani and Ellis announced that Powell was “practicing law on her own” after being kicked out of the campaign team.
However, a few weeks later, the New York Times reported that Trump was considering appointing Powell as a special advisor investigating voter fraud.
According to the Times, most of Trump’s advisers did not support the plan, including Giuliani.
Powell is currently facing a $ 1.3 billion defamation lawsuit from the Dominion for his debunked electoral demands; Giuliani and MyPillow CEO Mike Lindell are also being sued by the electoral technology provider.
