The sixth season of "Silicon Valley" will be the last of the HBO comedy, Variety has learned.
The final season will consist of seven episodes, making it the shortest season of the series. "Silcon Valley" is currently in pre-production and is expected to debut later this year. It was announced late last year that the production of the season would be delayed this summer due to the commitments made by co-host and executive producer Alec Berg in the comedy "Barry" of HBO.
"Silicon Valley" was a highlight for our career and for our life, "said Berg and co-producer / executive producer Mike Judge." The series follows the founders of a technology startup in Silicon Valley called Pied Piper. It stars Thomas Middleditch, Zach Woods, Kumail Nanjiani, Martin Starr, Amanda Crew, Jimmy O. Yang, Suzanne Cryer, Matt Ross and Josh Brener. The show has been nominated for several Emmys throughout its course, including the best comedy series. He has won two awards so far, both in 2015.
"It's quite a feat since the pilot, when Richard Hendricks' algorithm caught the attention of Peter Gregory and Gavin Belson," said Amy Gravitt, executive vice president of HBO Programming. "In the meantime, the whole relationship of our culture with technology has been transformed and the meticulous stories of Alec and Mike have managed to stay ahead at every step. The series was created by Mike Judge, John Altschuler and Dave Krinsky. Judge and Berg perform with Clay Tarver, Michael Rotenberg, Tom Lassally, Jim Kleverweis, Lew Morton and Jamie Babbit. Ron Weiner, Sarah Walker and Daisy Gardner are co-executive producers.
This is the latest HBO flagship series to be signed in 2019. The critically acclaimed political comedy "Veep" and the megahit fantasy series "Game of Thrones" aired their finals earlier this month. this.
