17 women arrested in raids in massage parlors and bars

SINGAPORE: A total of 17 women were arrested during a series of raids on massage parlors and public entertainment venues, police said in a press release Friday (July 27th).

The raids took place on Thursday and Friday.

During running operations along Beach Road, it was found that one massage facility had breached the conditions of authorization while three other institutions operated without a license.

In total, six women, aged between 32 and 59, were arrested for violating the Aliens Employment Act. Five of them did not have a valid work permit while the sixth had employed a foreign employee without a valid work permit.

During separate audits of public entertainment venues along Beach Road, Haji Lane, Duxton Road, South Bridge Road and Tanjong Pagar Road, three outlets were found to have breached licensing conditions

Eleven women, ages 19 to 37, were also arrested for work without a valid work permit
