In a statement made Tuesday (July 31), police said the area around Marina Bay had been designated as a special events area . In addition, a special zone in the special zone has been defined for stricter security checks.

Those who hold public gatherings and processions in the special event area, inside or out, must apply for permits to the police at https: // www .police.gov.sg / e -services / apply / licenses-and-permits.
The police will conduct security checks and checks on all persons and vehicles entering and inside the Special Zone. They will also have the power to refuse entry or to remove a person from the special area if necessary.
