SINGAPORE – An elderly man was pronounced dead at the hospital after a fight with another man in a Serangoon cafe.

Police told the Straits Times that she was alerted on Friday, November 2nd at 5:09 pm at 237 Serangoon Avenue 3.

A 58-year-old man was arrested for the case, the police added.

ST understands that the young man had hit the old man in the chest during the quarrel.

Police said the 82-year-old man was unconscious when he was taken to Tan Tock Seng Hospital, where he was later declared dead.

The Shin Min Daily News reported that passersby had tried to revive the old man. He had an argument with the youngest man in the café on the ground floor of the Serangoon Housing Board block.

The cause of the conflict is not known. Police investigations are under way.
