An internet user and a smoker spoke to Facebook earlier in the day to warn other smokers that agents of the National Environment Agency (NEA) were patrolling to catch those who smoked in prohibited areas. The man was arrested and fined for smoking tobacco "between the 7th and 8th floor" of a HDB block located in Toa Payoh.

In his article on Facebook, the man shared a copy of his fine, in which he must pay a whopping $ 200 for his offense.

I like to warn all smokers to pay attention to NEA in HDB areas. I was caught and fined around 22 hours last night. So quickly take back my whole chicken!

According to the fine, the man was caught at 10:14.

The message was subtitled: "I like to warn all NEA smokers in HDB areas. I was caught and fined around 22 hours last night. So fast, take back all my chicken!

Internet users who commented on this article were all for the ban on smoking and many blamed the man for warning other smokers likely to commit similar offenses.

A number of Singaporeans have also called for the ban on tobacco all over the country and the ban on smoking.

In comments to the man's post, others also provided the NEA with "information" about where she should patrol to catch the offenders.
