“Players can now and continue their adventure on either platform and on the move”
Old School RuneScape has released on iOS and Android.
The fan-favourite MMORPG – which delivers “interoperable cross-platform play, enabling players to jump from PC to mobile platforms and back again” – recieved 1 million pre-orders and has become the first full mainstream MMORPG to launch on mobile devices.
Old School RuneScape is available for iOS devices running 10.0 or above, and Android 5.0 or above, and features adventures for solo play through to 100-player strong raids that promise to take the game “far beyond a purely nostalgic vanilla experience”. The team polls players and permits the community to vote on features before they go live.
“Delivering the same wealth of content as its PC counterpart, expanding Old School RuneScape’s availability to mobile devices is an incredible achievement and one the team is extremely proud of,” said producer John Colgrave. “Its arrival on iOS and Android is something our community has been exceptionally hungry for and, through beta and soft launch, we’ve worked closely with them to refine and optimise Old School’s mobile interface, including the introduction of a customisable, one-touch action button, and intuitive touch-screen controls.
“Our intention is to take our games to wherever our players want them and, with the mobile edition offering fully-implemented and seamless cross-platform play with PC, players can now and continue their adventure on either platform and on the move.”
