The National Library Board (NLB) is responsible for archiving 180,000 websites in Singapore, which end with the .sg domain, as well as digital documents published in Singapore.

In July, Parliament passed amendments to the National Library Commission Act, allowing the NLB to archive websites ending in .sg without the written permission of their owners.
These websites will be archived at least once a year, the NLB said.
Since 1958, NLB's Legal Deposit Office has been collecting and preserving works published in Singapore, with over 1.3 million items collected to date.
The director of the National Library Board, Wai Yin Pryke, said that it was important to preserve the literary and intellectual heritage of a country because they document the evolution of Singapore over the course of 60 years. last years.

The exhibition at the National Library features local books, cookbooks, cookbooks and out-of-print local fashion and entertainment magazines.
Among the books on display are the first issue of the women's magazine Her World published in July 1960 and the additional manual that federal readers use in schools in the 1960s.
Jin Koh, a 60-year-old housewife, said the exhibition had taken her on a trip in the past. "I used to read some of these books and magazines, but I threw them all in. Times go so fast that these things have to be kept and remembered."
Tan Chia Huee, media officer, 41, said, "It is good that the library keeps these books so that they can be kept for future generations to see."
After tomorrow, the exhibition will be held at the Woodlands Regional Library (November 7 to December 9), the Tampines Regional Library (December 10 to January 6) and the Jurong Regional Library (from May 7 to December 9). January to 27 January).
