Joona "Serral" Sotala became the first non-Korean Starcraft 2 WCS champion at Blizzcon this year, ending the country's domination of e-Sport. Serral completed his incredible run in the tournament with an impressive 4-2 victory over Kim "Stats" Dae Yeob in the final as Zerg.
Serral quickly became the tournament's favorite after an impressive start, defeating Kim "sOs" Yoo Jin and Ju "Zest" Seong Wuk to easily qualify in the playoffs. The young Finn then winced in his 3-0 victory over Park "Dark" Ryung Woo, before steaming against Lee "Rogue" Byung Ryul 3-1 to reach the final.
Serral's style of play has gained notoriety in the Starcraft 2 community because of his efficiency and confidence in perfect timing, his game in economics being unmatched. The win now makes Serral the best player in Starcraft 2, a production rented by Starcraft 2's official Twitter page:
