A 13 year old Chinese boy who had been spotted with his upper body coming out of the roof of a car on a speedway died Sunday, October 28 after crashing against a sign.
The tragic accident occurred around 5 pm in Xinyu City, Jiangxi Province, in the southeastern part of the country, Chinese media reported.
A video filmed by a passenger in another car has since made his tour on social media platforms.
In the video, the boy can be seen with the top of his body out of the sunroof while the car is traveling on the empty fast lane.
The passengers of the other car, who were filming, noticed that there was a sign indicating a slight clearance and that it was jokingly said that the boy might die if he hit him.
However, their jokes turned into panting and horror when the boy crashed against the panel and collapsed.
The video later shows the driver of the car in which he was telephoning.
The Chinese news portal The Paper.cn reported that the boy had died on the scene.
Additional investigations are in progress.
Last December, a video showing a young child in Singapore standing with the body coming out of the sunroof of a passenger car sparked a debate among Internet users.
The car was traveling in Bartley Road East towards Tampines on December 6th.
While some said that there was nothing wrong with the boy enjoying the breeze, others said it was a risky behavior that could hurt the boy .
