A member of the task force was moved to tears by the way residents treat the Thia Khiang bass as the CAHT trial rages on

Cheryl Denise Loh, a member of the Workers Party (WP), said yesterday on social media that she was moved to tears by the way former WP secretary general, Low Thia Khiang, is being treated by the inhabitants, while the trial of the Aljunied-Hougang Municipal Council is raging.

Cheryl wrote on Facebook that she was accompanying the old opposition politician during a walk in the Punggol East neighborhood on Sunday and that she had to restrain her tears when she was saw how residents encouraged Low during the TASC trial.

In an article that went viral with more than 800 reactions on Facebook, Cheryl wrote:

"While being a tin carrier for Mr. Low during Hammer's outreach to Punggol East, I was able to hear first hand – the generous support of the many residents and the words of encouragement.

"I sometimes found myself holding back my tears.

"I was really touched by the fact that no matter the age or race, many came to talk to him or just patted him on the shoulder.

"Thank you all, because my Sunday was really brilliant after seeing such empathy and total confidence in Mr. Low."

Cheryl's message appears on the back of other WP NCMP Facebook posts, Dennis Tan Lip Fong, and WP's official Facebook page devoted to community outreach activities this weekend. Hundreds of Singaporeans were then praised for their hard work and dedication, the leaders of their parties face the intense trial of the AHTC.
