A taxi driver drives to the hospital after the vehicle caught fire

SINGAPORE: A taxi driver was taken to hospital on Tuesday, July 24 after his taxi caught fire along the Central Expressway (CTE).

The Singapore Civil Defense Force (SCDF) responded. the CTE to the Ayer Rajah Highway before the exit of Outram Road – around 12:40

The fire involved the engine compartment before the taxi, said SCDF, and was off using two backpacks of compressed air foam and water.

The taxi driver, who is over 70, was taken to the Singapore General Hospital for chest pain.

The cause of the fire is under investigation, added SCDF

. from the blocked highway, with emergency responders trying to extinguish the flames coming from the front of a TransCab red cab.

The Land Transport Authority tweeted around 2:30 pm that there was congestion on the CTE from the Outram Road exit to the Cairnhill Circle exit, and vehicles must avoid the third lane of the highway
