SINGAPORE: A former General Manager of Ang Mo Kio City Council (AMKTC) and a corporate executive accused of having bribed him for contracts exceeding 4,000 S in a single night of entertainment, heard a court Thursday, November 8.

Deputy Chief Counsel Jiang Ke-Yue spent most of the day on Thursday questioning Mr. Tay, one of more than 20 prosecution witnesses, about the records he has kept regarding the expenses of the latter.

The prosecution led Mr. Tay through several entries in the records concerning workers and alleged 19-NS2 workers.
One of the recurring names in the records belonged to Mr. Lee, a friend of Chia, told the court Mr. Tay. Mr. Lee was supposed to work for 19-NS2, but he was actually a taxi driver, Tay said.
Mr. Tay also explained the amounts of S $ 700 and S $ 750 paid by a foreign worker employed by 19 NS2. The worker's salary was inflated to meet the requirements to qualify for an S-Pass. So he paid the cash difference to the company, Tay said.
