The researchers found that tall people have a predisposition to certain cancers by using a large number of cells in the body.
Experts analyzed data from several studies examining the relationship between cancer risk and population growth in Norway, Korea, Austria and Sweden. This allowed scientists to estimate the probability of occurrence of the 23 types of malignancies according to the number of cells in the human body.
The researchers found that in women 10 centimeters tall, the cancer risk increased by 13% and in men by 11%. At the same time, 18 types of malignancies, including skin cancer, thyroid, intestines, uterus and breast, were closely associated with sststam. According to scientists, this is due to the increase in amounts of growth hormone, which leads to a greater number of cell divisions and increases the risk of unwanted mutations.
One of the non-growth-related types of cancer has been found to be cervical cancer, because its main role in its appearance is a human papillomavirus.
