The new manufacturing plant is being built to meet Aston Martin's luxury crossover demand, which will be the very first British SUV.
There is very little information available on the car. it's called the Varekai, which is derived from the word Roma for "where" which points to off-road abilities.
The SUV should also have several engine options, including the Mercedes-AMG V8 and V12, and the hybrid system that will be used in the AMG GT four-door coupe that has just been unveiled.
It will be one of two models that will initially form the revitalized Lagonda sub-brand of Aston. The ready variant for production is expected to be unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show next year
Speaking of the new plant, Dr. Andy Palmer, President and CEO of Aston Martin, said: "The Country of Wales has a long history of excellence the board is delighted that it will play such an important role in the development of Aston Martin. "
Aston Martin was founded by Lionel Martin and Robert Bamford in 1913.
