Aston Martin SUV officially next year

T o Celebrate the April fish this year, Aston Martin released a rendering of the DBX concept that had been turned into a monster truck (see above). It was a ridiculous picture, but Aston Martin is really serious about building an SUV. We have known Aston SUV plans for a while, but we now know when the vehicle will come into production.

Aston Martin recently announced that the second phase of expansion of its St Athan facility was completed. With this milestone, the British automaker now has the space to build its first SUV. And with the construction completed on time, Aston Martin says that DBX is about to start production "late 2019".

Official teaser of Aston Martin for DBX production.

In the past we have heard similar rumors, but it was not always clear if the DBX would be on sale at that time or if it was when the production version would be revealed. There was also a question of production delays as Aston Martin worked on the conversion of three old aircraft hangars into modern car factories. This no longer seems like a problem

We still do not know much about Aston's first SUV, although we know that it will not retain the DBX concept's two-door layout (photo below). "There are aspects of the car that have changed drastically, perhaps no more than the fact that it's now four doors down," said CEO Andy Palmer last August.

He however stated that the DBX production share some similarities of design with the concept and that there will be a hybrid option.

With the installation completed and production on track, look for Aston Martin to reveal DBX production soon, potentially at the Geneva Motor Show next year. [ad_2]
