If you thought these signs warning you not to feed pigeons and other birds were just hints, think again.
Yesterday, Singapore's Agri-Food and Veterinary Authority was not fined. V Rajandran, 62, was fined $ 400 for feeding pigeons on the empty deck one block away in February, while Abdul Aziz Saik Mohamed, 68, was was fined $ 1,500 for five counts of pigeons between October 2017 and May 2018.
Rajandran allegedly fed pigeons in a Potong Pasir Avenue 2 residential building when the house was under construction. AVA launched its investigation. "Investigations revealed that V Rajandran was feeding pigeons with bread crumbs on the empty deck of the block," according to an official statement.
In the other case, Aziz was charged with illegal pigeoning at the grass along Woodlands Street 81, at the sight of a sign "No food". Despite this, Mr. Aziz continued to offer food to hungry birds and would also have been the subject of an investigation.
According to the AVA, the two accused were repeat offenders. Rajandran had previously been fined four times for a similar offense, while Mr Aziz had been fined twice. These guys can not seem to stop.
Anyone caught feeding pigeons may be fined up to $ 500. We can only hope that after these two high-profile cases, the two [1949006] crimes committed by men will eventually come to an end
. But seriously, feeding the pigeons can lead to health and safety risks, including inadvertently attracting other pests. But we wonder if the AVA has been a little outdated in recommending people to visit their neighbors in case of pigeon:
"The application alone will not solve this problem", did they said in a statement. "Members of the public can play a role in not feeding pigeons, and reporting pigeon feeding activities to the Singapore Food and Veterinary Authority."
Some people have nothing better to do than feed the pigeons and others it seems that they have nothing better to do than to call them the authorities on the people who feed the pigeons.
