SHAUN MURPHY left the Champion of Champions in awe with a sublime shot against Jimmy Robertson.

Defending champion Murphy overcame his counterpart 4-2 in the opening round of the tournament at the Ricoh Arena in Coventry.

And he started to go to the second frame.

The clip – aired on ITV 4 – shows the 36-year-old eyeing up a red which is resting on the left-sided cushion.

Despite the tricky placement of the red, Murphy manages to fire into the top-left pocket.

"What a pot that is," the commentator says the shot goes in.

His co-pundit adds: "That was fantastic was not it, a bit more like it."

The white then rebounds off the corner before stopping just behind the pink.

It allowed Murphy to snook Robertson for his next shot.

The Champion of Champions features 16 players, with eight seeded and eight not.

Ronnie O'Sullivan is favorite to win the £ 100,000 prize money on Sunday's final.

Ladbrokes make him a 5/2 shot with Judd Trump second-favorite at 6/1.

Murphy's shot is the only sublime move that has gone viral in recent weeks.

Trump stunned Zhao Xintong with what many called the shot of the English Open last month.
