The Bavarians are usually used to meeting their Bundesliga rivals as favorites, but will have to get angry with the BVB on Saturday in Klassiker.

Bayern Munich President Uli Hoeness called his team "outsiders" to the Der Klassiker against Borussia Dortmund on Saturday.

Dortmund are undefeated in the Bundesliga this season and hold a four-point lead in the blockbuster showdown at Signal Iduna Park.

Hoeness said Bayern would participate in the match as a stranger after the impressive start of the campaign in Dortmund.

"You can not go to Dortmund and say you want to get three points – Dortmund has had a very good season so far, without a doubt," he said after Bayern's 2-0 win. on AEK Athens in the Champions League Wednesday.

"We are not going to Dortmund as favorites, but as outsiders – for the first time in a long time.

"We have to make sure we play a good game there and then we'll see what happens."

The double of Robert Lewandowski helped Bayern, beyond AEK, to ease slightly the pressure on under-defensive coach Niko Kovac.

Hoeness called for patience with Bayern and criticized the media, especially with the Bundesliga title race that seemed poised to entertain the campaign.

"Do not be so negative, the season has just started, we have a team in transition, a young coach who has to settle here and you have to be patient," he said.

"Four weeks ago you all complained that the Bundesliga has become boring and that it is no longer boring but exciting and that it does not suit you.

"At some point, you should agree on what you really want, and we're doing you some favors right now."

Despite a slow start to the season under Kovac, Bayern is only four points behind championship leader Dortmund, before Saturday's deciding match, and enters the match with a bit of confidence.

"First, the win is very good for our confidence," said Kovac after the win over AEK. "Secondly, it is important that we have created a lot of chances.

"I'm happy for Lewandowski because he's a very important player for us, he had four chances and scored two, which is a good ratio."
