Manila: Ceres Negros beat Global Cebu 6-1 to win a second consecutive Philippine League football title at Rizal Memorial Stadium on Wednesday, emerging champions with three games to play.

Their achievement gives them a place in the preliminary stage of the 2019 AFC Champions League, or direct qualification for next year's AFC Cup should not qualify for the continent's first club tournament
Bienvenido Marañon scored a hat-trick as Mike Ott, Omid Nazari and Blake Powell added one for Negros. Marvin Angeles scored the lone goal for Cebu
Both teams were equally aggressive early in the game, Darryl Roberts forcing debutant Roland Muller to a good stop while Global's Alvin Sarmiento needed to clear the lead. Mike Ott. The Cebu team had another chance at the hour of play when Daniel Gadia broke the trap to establish a confrontation with Muller. The repatriated Ceres, however, had other ideas when he made a footing on Gadia's attempt

The Spanish striker would not be deprived of a few minutes later, taking advantage of a defensive mistake to score his second goal.
The Busmen were given a new penalty on Powell after trying to dodge the guardian in the area. The Australian striker did not cheat on the spot to score the fifth goal of Ceres
Ceres completed the score in the 88th minute when Mike Ott crossed the goal line and Marañon tapped for the third
