Experts reveal strange foods that help speed up the metabolism when they are eaten before bedtime

Changing the weight can be difficult, even with the best diet and the best exercise regime in the world, but experts have revealed a new way to speed up the weight loss process by speeding up your metabolism.

It is often advisable for people looking to lose weight to avoid eating before going to bed.

However, a new study has denied this advice, suggesting eating an odd food before bedtime to speed up your metabolism.

A study by the British Journal of Nutrition found that eating cottage cheese before falling asleep for a night's sleep could contribute to weight loss.

The study examined ten active women in their twenties. Before the women went to bed, they were given 30 g (about two tablespoons) of cottage cheese between 30 and 60 minutes before bedtime, or two hours after dinner.

The researchers then measured their reset energy and the energy they burned during their sleep.

The study, conducted by Florida State University, revealed that at waking hours, between 5am and 8am, women had improved their metabolism and muscle recovery.

All thanks to a protein found in cottage cheese, casein. This protein helps build muscle and is often found in protein shakes.

The study showed that cottage cheese was as successful as if a casein cocktail was drunk before bedtime and weight was not gained.

Since it is rich in protein and healthy fats, it is also a good option for low carb diets.

Professor Ormsbee, who helped to conduct the study, said, "These data suggest that the metabolic response of whole food proteins does not differ from the metabolic response of liquid proteins."
