F1: Ferrari (NYSE: RACE) for 2019: Vettel and Leclerc work together

$ Course

In Ferrari's main shoe (NYSE: RACE), Sebastian Vettel believes it's essential that he and Ferrari's new teammate, Charles Leclerc. 21 years, have a cooperative working relationship in F1 next season.

The Scuderia have decided not to keep their No. 2 driver Kimi Raikkonen for Y 2019, so Vettel will have a new teammate for the first time since joining Ferrari at the 2015 Y.

But if the natural speed of Mr. Leclerc is obvious, it lacks experience in F1 and has only 19 Grand Prix for Sauber. That's why Mr. Vettel thinks it would be a mistake if both men were fighting for internal supremacy.

"It will certainly be different, because Charles is not Kimi and Kimi is not Charles," Vettel told motor racing journalists on Saturday.

"He's young, so he'll have a lot to say and a lot to think about. So I think for the team, we have to work together as planned.

"I'm sure he wants to beat me, I want to beat him, the rules are clear. It was the same with Kimi.

"But I think the key is that we work together and, as I said, he will have a lot of things in mind.

"I'm his teammate, so I'm here to help. I'm the last one trying to hide or play games or something like that.

"That's why I think I get along very well with Kimi because in this respect we are very similar. Then we'll see.

Vettel: Leclerc and I have to work together in 2019

Even if Mr Raikkonen had failed to convince Ferrari to retain him for the 2019 Y could have spurred him to give up F1, an agreement allowing him to take the vacant seat of Mr Leclerc to Sauber means that Kimi will continue to run until 40 years old.

However, Mr Vettel is skeptical about extending his career to such an age.

"Well, in 10 years it will last as long as Kimi," he said.

"A long time ago, it's as long as I'm here, so now it's basically part-time, I do not know."

"We are considering 400 Grand Prix … in total. I do not know, you should never say never, but maybe not. I do not know.

"It depends, you know. If I win the next 10 years with Ferrari, then yes, why not?

This weekend, the F1 race is in Brazil, give yourself.

Have a great weekend
