Facebook is testing a feature to identify malicious accounts that send you unwanted direct messages on its Messenger platform.
According to a report published Wednesday in Motherboard, this feature will provide additional information about direct messages from
"We are testing a way to provide more context to people about people they have not connected with before" , said the Facebook Messenger team at Motherboard

"It can warn a user when an unsolicited message has been sent from a Messenger account that is not associated with an official Facebook account," reports The Verge.
Facebook is grappling with privacy issues such as the Cambridge Analytica data scandal involving 87 million users and another bug that changed the privacy setting of 14 million default users for the public.
In another vacy goof-up pri, Facebook admitted that more than 800,000 users were affected by a bug on its platform and Messenger that unblocked some people that these users had blocked.
