The Edge ST joins Pursuit Systems’ collection alongside the BMW X5 M, Porsche Cayenne Turbo and Mercedes ML63 AMG.
Ford’s Edge ST has been converted to a camera car to shoot commercials and films.
The performance-focused Edge has been modified by Pursuit Systems, a leading camera-car operator better known for its Mercedes ML63 AMG, Ford F-150 Raptor and Porsche Cayenne Turbo.
Pursuit Systems outfitted the Edge ST with a Russian arm, an enormous roof-mounted boom that can swing a stabilized camera gimbal around the vehicle to capture unique angles while filming at speed.
To handle the half ton of extra weight on the roof, the ST has received engine modifications, individual-wheel air suspension, a roll cage, lots of custom wiring and a matte black wrap.
It is unclear if Pursuit Systems is eyeing the Edge ST as a new addition to its stable or building the custom crossover to fulfill a cross-promotion with Ford.
The automaker says it is in talks to use the Edge ST to help create upcoming feature films.
