PETALING JAYA (STAR / ASIA NEWS NETWORK) – A Twitter dispute erupted between former Malaysian minister Khairy Jamaluddin and his other Umno member, Lokman Adam, causing a small wave of excitement on the local social media scene.
It all began when Umno's Supreme Council member Lokman responded to the tweet of Mr. Khairy, who was sharing a video clip of Mr. Khairy's exchange with Finance Minister Lim Guan Eng on keeping Goods and Services Tax (GST), now abolished, at a lower rate than the new Sales and Service Tax (SST).
Mr Khairy's tweet, which was published on August 1 and remains at the top of his Twitter calendar, went on to say that the Finance Ministry admitted that the GST was better, while saying that it should disappear because it was an election promise; "Political populism outweighs a sound economic policy".
Datuk Lokman said: "With this kind of attitude, never dream of becoming the president of Umno".
The reason why Mr. Lokman chose to respond to this specific tweet on Saturday (November 3rd) has still not been clarified, since this tweet was posted more than three months ago.
The deputy of Rembau, Khairy, was quick to react.
"You'd better pray that I do not become president of Umno.The first thing I will do, is to send you back to have the IQ of a carrot," he said. he tweeted to Mr. Lokman on Sunday afternoon.
Mr. Lokman has led demonstrations in support of current and former Presidents of Umno, Najib Razak and Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, both of whom are facing criminal prosecution for bribery, breach of trust and money laundering. 39; money.

Earlier, Lokman also responded to Khairy's tweet about why the Umno-led Barisan Nasional (BN) lost to Pakatan Harapan in the May general election.
"We lost because of 1MDB, the end," Khairy said, citing the Malaysia Development Berhad's corruption scandal, which implicated Najib.
In the tweet, he also attached a report from an English newspaper in which Najib reportedly claimed that BN had been lost because of "fraud, defamation and false promises of Pakatan Harapan".
