One woman is dead and 13 others are in the hospital after a shooting in Toronto's Greektown neighborhood on Sunday night
Police say a victim, a girl aged eight or nine, is in critical condition
Toronto Police Chief Mark Saunders urged the public to share any information on the shooting, including a video of what happened. He said the police do not know what motivated the attack, but that she is studying all the possibilities.

Saunders does not know how the suspect died but officers exchanged shots. No officer was injured.

Emergency crews were called to the scene near Danforth and Pape avenues in Greektown, part of which is located in the Riverdale area of Toronto around 10 pm . AND.
The condition of the other victims is not yet known, according to police spokesman Mark Pugash. He says it's too early to tell if the shooting was motivated by terrorism.
Eight of the victims were taken to trauma centers in Toronto.
Police said the seriously injured girl was taken to Toronto's Hospital for Sick Children. Hospital spokesmen said four people had been taken to St. Michael's Hospital and three to Sunnybrook Health Sciences Center

Mike McCormack, president of the Toronto Police Association, said that they had never seen anything like it.
"It's just a terrible scene: families are having fun on the Danforth, supposed to be in a very safe area, and it's happening," he said. "It's absolutely devastating."
Ontario Premier Doug Ford said on Twitter, "I'm wholeheartedly with the victims" and he thanked the first responders for 39, acting quickly.
Coun. Mary Fragedakis, whose wing includes Danforth Avenue, tweeted that "words can not express my sadness for this despicable act".
Witnesses Describe the Chaos
Jody Steinhauer tells CBC News she was at Christina's Restaurant on the Danforth with her family when she heard this which looked like 10 to 15 explosions of firecrackers.
She said that she was told to run to the bottom of the restaurant

Kerri Lahey said that she was eating dinner at 7Numbers restaurant with her boyfriend when she saw the shooter come in through a side door and shoot a woman
"We were sitting on the patio, and we heard gunshots, so we ran inside and he went into the restaurant and shot the girl right in front of me" she said, "If we had not run inside at that time, we would probably be dead now."
Lahey said the police had treated the woman before the paramedics arriving on the scene
"Thank God for the cops the paramedics arrived so late that the cops saved his life. "
John Tulloch was coming out of his car on the Danforth when he heard gunshots.

Andrew Van Eek, who lives in The area said he had poked his head out the window after hearing the gunshots sounding.
"There was a lot of commotion in the street," he said. "I saw someone come right down the sidewalk and shoot in the Demetres restaurant."
He described the suspect as a white man, in his late thirties, who was dressed while black. police have not yet provided a description of the suspect
