Sources in Gaza's health system said that Abera Mengistu, the Israeli citizen detained by Hamas, received a video clip of his mother and brother in 2016.

Doctors for Human Rights has been working for two years with the medical establishment and the Gaza authorities to obtain information about Mengistu and Hisham Sayed, an Israeli Bedouin missing since entering Gaza in 2015. The organization hopes to arrange visit of a doctor to both, but have not received any information on their condition. The group received no further information that the documents sent by the Mengistu family reached their destination.
