GO Fest has brought with it the release of new shines, new Alolans and increased spawns of rare Pokémon, meaning that when you're outside your research tasks for the unlocks today,
So, what's been added?
Alolan Geodude, Graveler and Golem are now spawning / available to evolve.

Also Alolan Diglett and Dugtrio are now appearing as well. The only two Alolan forms left to see are Raichu and Marowak, which have non-Alolan first forms.

And also everyone's favorite hemispheric regionals, and more

It is not quite clear that these new ones are permanent, but that is most likely the case, and how these new additions usually work. So if you can not play this weekend, they should still show up in the future.
But that's not all. There are also more spawns of other Pokémon because of GO Fest as well. Expect to see increased spawns of Lotad, Cacnea, Snorunt, Swinub, Magmar, Seedot, Wailmer, Feebas, Slugma, Treecko, Mudkip, Torchic, Alolan Exeggutor, Aerodactyl, Trapinch. That might not be all of you, but you're going to have a lot to do with it. ] Elsewhere, we are waiting for confirmation that it will be possible to bring about a celebrity hunt with it, possibly first at the event itself, then expanding elsewhere. And if everyone completes their research tasks, we will have a shiny Zapdos raid day next weekend, so do your part and make that 5 million metric happen for your region.
It's an exciting weekend for Pokémon GO players, both locally at GO Fest and the world with these new spawns. I have to give Niantic credit for really doing a great job. Pokémon GO to report on, and they've really been on the ball, this year, we've been working on Niantic worked on its Harry Potter game. Harry Potter has yet to be seen, but Pokémon GO, thanks to Niantic's hard work.
