With the launch of our new food, lifestyle and travel colloquiums Coconuts Colloquiums, an all-out party was direly needed. And indeed has been held last week in the heart of Tanjong Pagar at retro bar / arcade Nineteen80, where we very much like magnanimous amounts of alcohol on our guests and ourselves.
The festivities kicked off righteously with Coconuts Singapore Managing Editor (and de-facto in-house DJ) Ilyas Sholihyn on decks, pushing buttons and twisting knits through a medley of downtempo tunes, future funk, '80s Japanese pop, and hip-hop bangers. Invited guests and COCO + members do not waste any time on the hype and make the most of the free-flow beer service.
Working up a respectable level of buzz, folks started challenging each other on the arcade consoles. Those who were not beating each other Street Fighter mingled and frolicked on the dance floor
The Merriment took a brief break with Coconuts Media's Founder and Chief Executive Byron Perry as Food, Lifestyle, and Travel Managing Editor Cindy Kuan announcing the winners of our COCO + member lucky draw. Shoutout to Vinomofo for kindly providing the bottles of wine as prizes.
