[BEIJING] The growth of the service industry in China has been moderate in July for the first time in five months, according to an official poll Tuesday, L & # 39; Official Purchasing Managers Index (PMI) rose from 55.0 in June to 54.0, well above the 50-point mark that separates growth from contraction.
The service sector accounts for more than half of the Chinese economy, with rising wages giving more buying power to Chinese consumers.
The composite PMI, which covers both manufacturing and services, fell to 53.6 in July from 54.4 in June.
