Rio Ferdinand supports Marcus Rashford to begin
Rashford has to start more games for Manchester United when he wants to reach his potential, according to the big Rio Ferdinand club.
Rashford once again won the match against United this weekend as he prepared for a dramatic 2-1 win over Bournemouth in the Premier League.
Despite his late heroic goal, Rashford missed two glorious chances earlier in the game and Ferdinand believes that the English international must start more matches if he wants to reward Jose Mourinho on the pitch.
"Marcus Rashford is a great talent that needs to be nurtured," said Ferdinand BT Sport. "Mourinho gave him chances, he played a lot, a lot of minutes.
"But I believe that he's at an age when he'll be sitting [and] if he does not leave, he will be disappointed.
"He is no longer the player who has been brought into the team, who is happy to leave the bench and have that impact.
"He is now in a place where, in his mind, he thinks:" I should start here "and when he does not, he is a deflator.
"I do not think he's at the time of his career where he should say he's really # 9 in the middle.
"But I think in the development of a young player … you've seen it with the best players with Wayne Rooney on the left wing sometimes for Man Utd, [Cristiano] Ronaldo on the wing and on the front. Players move at a young age and then find their position. "
