In Ukraine during the week from 6 to 13 November measles sick 1682. The incidence of measles increased by 35% compared to the previous week, reports UNN, citing data from the Ministry of health of Ukraine.
“According to operational data,.. for the last week sick with measles 1 682 person – 506 1 176 adults and children (35% more than last week)”, – reported in the Ministry of health.
Since the beginning of the year, measles was ill 38 108 – 14 609 499 adults and 23 children, and from complications of measles died, 15 people – 4 adults and 11 children.
The health Ministry also said that the only way to stop the outbreak of a measles – vaccination. In all regions of Ukraine, it is sufficient vaccines for routine immunization and strengthened, assured in the Ministry of health. As of November 8, 2018, in Ukraine there are 586 260 doses of vaccines against measles, mumps and rubella. All vaccines delivered to the UN Children’s Fund (UNICEF), the Ministry added.
Recall the problems with the Ukrainians incidence of measles has led to the fact that this year in some regions of the country, in particular in Transcarpathia declared quarantine. Also, due to the measles outbreak suspended the study in four schools in the Lviv region.
As previously reported, this year the Ukrainians for a few months could not vaccinate their children – the necessary preparations in Ukraine – “weight in gold”, but the timing of their shipments to pharmacies and hospitals often didn’t know.
Earlier, in January, the Ministry of health announced an official investigation regarding the lack of vaccines against measles in some regions of Ukraine.
