July 28, 2018 – Nepal will begin its ambitious course of meeting the world's most ferocious cricket rivals, India and Pakistan, against Oman in the ACC Asia qualifying tournament which will begin in Malaysia from August 29 to September 6 in Kuala Lumpur.
The Qualifier sends the competition champions to six teams in the September Asian Cup that involves Central India, Pakistan and Sri Lanka, as well as Bangladesh and the newcomers to Afghanistan .
The Qualifier winner will join India and Pakistan in the group 'A'. of the Asian Cup from September 15 to 28 that will take place in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
The Qualifier will give Nepal a new opportunity to tighten the horns with the two cricket giants after they were deprived of the opportunity 16 years ago. Nepal was qualified for the 2004 Asian Cup after entering the final of the 2002 ACC Trophy in Singapore. But after relations between India and Pakistan exploded because of the Kargill war, the first decided to end all relations with Pakistan, including cricket, it resulted in the 39, cancellation of the Asian Cup.
Associate rivals from the United Arab Emirates, Hong Kong, Malaysia and Singapore are the other four teams participating in the tournament. The participating teams will play in the league in the round and the two best teams will meet in the final on September 6th. The final winner will then reserve the tickets for the Asian Cup.
After the match against Oman at the Ring of Bayuemas, Nepal will meet the United Arab Emirates in the second match and after a day of rest, they will face the hosts of the Bayuemas. Singapore will be Nepal's next goal scorer at UKM Oval on 2 September before ending the league phase with the match against Hong Kong at the same venue on 4 September.
