NephroPlus Acquires Kidney Care Provider DaVita Care India

Dialysis care network NephroPlus acquired the DaVita Care Inc. DaVita Care India Kidney Care Provider for an undisclosed amount.

With this acquisition, NephroPlus has taken over the network of 22 DaVita Care India centers. It will further strengthen the company's service capacity and enable it to be present in 18 states of India, with 176 centers in 97 cities, NephroPlus said in a statement.

NephroPlus currently has 153 centers in 92 cities in 18 Indian states.

DaVita Care (India) Pvt. Ltd. owns and operates a network of dialysis and kidney care centers that provide care to patients with acute or terminal renal failure in India.

"We remain enthusiastic about our future in Asia-Pacific and look forward to continuing our engagement in the region," said DaRobert Lang, CEO of Vita International.

This announcement follows reports that NephroPlus plans to raise up to 100 billion rupees (about $ 14.5 million) as part of its Series D financing round in order to to increase its presence in India and abroad.

The health care provider had raised a hundred rupees ($ 15 million) in a round led by Sealink Capital Partners and the existing investor International Finance Corporation almost two years ago. Previously, in 2014, NephroPlus had raised $ 10 million in Series B from IFC and the existing Bessemer investor. Bessemer also invested $ 4.25 million (23 crores) in a Series A round in 2011.

According to media reports, the company plans to expand overseas with another acquisition in Southeast Asia before the end of March 2019. It also plans to enter the market. from Western Asia, by the inorganic route.
