THREE things in life are certain: death, taxes, and Marc Marquez wins at Sachsenring.
The reigning world champion MotoGP has extended his unbelievable series to nine consecutive wins of nine consecutive positions with the victory at the German Grand Prix.
Márquez recovers from a slow start to pass Jorge Lorenzo in the lead just before the halfway mark, and the Honda rider never leaves again.
Yamaha's Valentino Rossi and Maverick Vinales complete the podium, with the latter accumulating a late charge that earned him his second consecutive podium.
From pole position, as every year during his series on the German circuit, Márquez immediately lost a few places while Lorenzo took the lead.
Márquez recovered and grabbed Lorenzo but was content to hunt down the Ducati for a while on the short and sinuous circuit of the Sachsenring that focuses on the tires.
As the leader began to lose traction, Márquez took the lead with 17 laps to go, but continued to roll carefully, allowing Rossi to reduce the gap.
With 10 laps to go, Márquez accelerates.
"When I see that the time is 0.6, I think it's now time to push on," Marquez said.
Rossi insisted that Yamaha did well.
"The Sachsenring is normally difficult for us, we are very happy to make a double podium."
